Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic performance. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was just six years old. She competed in the Romanian Junior Games and placed 13th. She won in 1970. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In her very first competition at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career in the entertainment industry as a teenager performing as the figure skating duo of her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. These shows included the ice skating of which was accompanied by theatrical music.
